Shame, Shame on Me
At this time of year, I think it’s important to look back on the previous 12 months and recognize what areas we made some progress in and which ones we may have flubbed up along the way. Personally, I don’t think I’ve backpedaled too much in general, but I’ve come to the conclusion that I am probably one of the worst bloggers in the history of blogging. It’s not that I’m bad at what I write, but I’m absolutely terrible about getting it written.
When I created a blog page on my website, I was sure that I could manage to do one at least once a month. While my intentions are good, it just doesn’t get done, and there’s no rational reason why. There are people who are way busier than I am that manage to blog at least once a week and it’s not just a paragraph or two, either. They put me to shame.
Those of you who are regular listeners to my show know that Damh the Bard pops in at least once a year. He’s a busy, busy guy and I’m thankful he finds the time to spend an hour with me. Here’s a man who creates wonderful music, produces magnificent albums, hosts DruidCast once a month, travels all over the world doing live concerts, celebrates the Sabbats in wonderful ways, and is hard at work on his Y Mabinogi series of albums (he’s on the Third Branch) which entails writing words and music for narration and the songs, recording the narration and songs, spending countless hours in the editing bay, and I don’t see how he manages to have time for himself and yet, he writes the most wonderful blogs about a variety of topics. What I’m trying to point out is that I have absolutely no excuse whatsoever for not being able to sit down once a month and get it done.
That being said, maybe I need a little bit of incentive from you, so if you’d like to see more blogs more often, you could help me out by letting me know what would interest you. For example, some of the most popular blogs I’ve posted to date were about Creating A Personal Pentagram of Intent, Fairy Rings, and How To Set Up An Ancestor Altar. So what topics would interest you? Go ahead and pick my brain about both the metaphysical and the mundane. Ask me questions. By doing that, you’ll actually shame me into getting them done because I’d have no excuse not to. Guilt works! So put on your thinking caps, let me know.
In the meantime, Blessed Be Your Holidays, Cozy Be Your Hearth. Merry Be Your Family and Peaceful Be Your Hearts.
